Blood on the Streets: Melbourne's Knife Epidemic Spills Over into Schools A 15 year old schoolboy in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs was attacked by a group of youths wielding knives and swords.
The assault has left many shaken, but it is not an isolated incident. Detective Inspector Mark Patrick noted that "continual knife related assaults and offences" are becoming increasingly common in the city.
The attack occurred just outside Alkira Secondary College. Witnesses described how the offenders charged at their victim with a variety of weapons.
