Indian Migrant Workers Face High Risk in Gulf Region

3 Indians Die in Workplace Accidents in Gulf Every Week, Shows MEA Data The recent spate of workplace accidents in the Gulf region has raised concerns about the safety and well being of Indian migrant workers.

According to data from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), over 800 Indians have died in work related incidents between 2023 and 2025. Of these fatalities, a staggering 55% occurred in the Gulf countries.

The highest toll was recorded in Saudi Arabia, where nearly one Indian worker per week lost their life over the three year period. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) followed closely, with 128 fatalities.
